In 2010 Andrew Feicht set out on a journey to find the best solution for portable churches. As he was preparing for the launch of One Church as a staff pastor, he grew frustrated with the lack of affordable options and decided to design and create his own solution. Armed with a team of volunteers and his over-engineered plans, they constructed their first set of crates in October, 2010. (That team, still gives Andrew a hard time for the details in the plans, i.e., cuts specific to 1/32”. )
Those first 8 crates are still in use every weekend at One Church in Columbus, OH.
Over the following months and years, Andrew began getting calls from church planters from around the country looking to go portable. The opportunity to partner with those churches combined with lessons learned through weekly use at One Church have contributed to improvements in the design, operation and assembly processes.
Today the crates can be easily constructed by a team of volunteers with moderate woodworking experience. (No cuts need to be as precise as 1/32nd any more.)
Drawing on 8 years of experience in portable churches, his background as a professional engineer and his passion to support church plants, Andrew Feicht knew there had to be a better solutions for churches looking to meet in portable venues.
And so, Portable Solutions was born. Portable Solutions is a company focused on simplifying the portable church experience, at a price that won’t break the bank. Believing that it is better to empower the local church and talents included in them, we focus on providing no-compromise solutions that the local churches can build themselves.
